"One · Some · Many · All · Together"
highpoint center for printmaking
As part of the Access/Print Teen Program in 2017 at Highpoint Center for Printmaking, I was exposed to all the different facets of printmaking including mono printing, drypoint, relief, and screen printing. The semester long program concluded with a gallery exhibition at their facility in Uptown, Mpls. Learn more about the programs at Highpoint.
For my exhibition piece I chose to explore screen printing further by incorporating mylar and other materials to suspend the five portraits at eye level.
Statement
In my recent work I have focused on current issues and the connection between nature and humanity. I am inspired by conflict and the human condition. For this piece, I wanted to show unity through the overlapping of portraits and I believe this visual representation will help to unify people and bring awareness to a forgotten similarity that we all share.
